Help! I have a 1000 and a 2000, and I'm attempting to connect them to one printer. (the printer used to be dedicated to the 1000). I got a data switch box and hooked the printer and the 2000 up, and they work fine. When I got to the 1000, I remembered the db25 connector on the parallel port was non standard, so I modified the new cable I bought for it to ignore line 23 (the 5v line) and to switch lines 25 and 16 so the reset line would end up at the printer. My initial test was a copy command through the par: device and everything looked fine, when I attempted to print through prt: and from Word Perfect, I got an extra line feed (i.e double line spacing) for every line. Even though I don't understand why it works with the par: device and not the prt:, I assume the problem is with the new cable, I just don't know which line would be responsible for the extra line feed. So, to make a short story long, I sure appreciate it, if someone out there could steer me in the right direction, or perhaps, down the right line would be more better. Thanks, >>Steve.t
