Hmmm,
Interesting comment about Dr. Who.
One of the original Star Trek shows had an archivist on a planet with a sun
that was about to go supernova. Bones, Spock and Kirk landed and met this
librarian. He showed them the "multimedia" chronology of the planet on shinny
small discs mounted in devices like a notebook computer with built-in CD-ROM.
The only problem here was that the show was written in 1966, a full 8 years
before the commercialization of CD audio and 18 years before the invention of
CD-ROM. Interesting stuff huh?
