One of the most important (and often neglected) issues is whether your license for the disc allows you to provide dial-up access. The company that I work for specifically excludes any dial-up use on all its CD-ROM products. Read the agreement very carefully before you set anything up; also, contact the publisher even if the license precludes dial-up, and make a special request. We've granted such requests at times, depending on the circumstances.
