Sanjay: Inmagic will be on the next iteration of our list, and they do have software (as do a couple of others) which would do what you want. >>And as far as the number of pages is concerned, surely if a CD-ROM can take 100,000 pages of plain text, it will easily take 400 pages of graphic images. Wouldn't it?<< My remarks were not questioning the technical possibility of the kind of project you described. Certainly it is do-able. My question related to the wisdom of undertaking such a project from a marketing perspective. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done. Will it save you lots of money? Have your customers been clamoring to read reproduced pages on a computer screen? What is the rationale for doing this? If a rationale seems difficult to generate, maybe it is appropriate to re-think the product concept. A concept that works well on paper, may not necessarily work so well on CDROM, and vice-versa. All I'm suggsting is that the technology be put to its highest and best use for both the producer and the customer. And if your employer wants to take advantage of new technologies, they might want to re-examine their business strategies. FWIW. – Rich Bowers
