OpalPaint's current version is 2.1. The updates have slowed quite a bit
now that they are concentrating on the modules. Centaur squashed
pratically every bug when they released 2.0 and it seems now like the
updates are more based on requests to make various functions better.
Opal AnimMate is shipped with OpalVision and it consists of utilities to
make 8,12,15,18, and 24 bit animations (368×286). It obviously isn't the
end-all solution to realtime animation, but the results are pretty good.
I can't seem to get more than 20 FPS out of it, but even that looks good.
