Ms-Dos & Amiga
>>Actually, they're practically giving away the OS/2 developer's kit. I got
the CD, which included a compiler, I believe, for about $15 for shipping.
Yeah, but it was a beta version of the compiler (well, late beta) and a beta
version of OS/2 2.1. I wanted to wait for the pioneers to find the bugs before
I ordered. I have found enough with IBM's version of TCP/IP for OS/2 when
communicating with my Ami. The latest round of CSDs seems to have made it
worse. I started having severe problems with NFS (OS/2 lockups) when I moved
from a 386-33 to a 486-66. Now I am having similar problems with FTP get and
put for large files. I sent a trace file to Raleigh, but I am still waiting
for a correction. According to TCP/IP support, someone is working on it, but
the Ami is a rare platform for them. Maybe I can get them to come to me to
find the bugs <GGGG>. I still don't know if it is an Ami problem or an OS/2
problem.
Well, enough of my complaints. How did _you_ like the beta version of OS/2
2.1? From what I have heard, it is a big improvement over 2.0. I can't wait
to get my copy of the GA version.
