Mitsumi CD-ROM Hangs PC
I'm having a a bit of a problem with a Mitsumi CD-ROM drive.
The system usually behaves without any problems at all (apart from the odd GPF
now and again) but when I access the CorelDraw3 CD-ROM the system frequently
hangs completely with a message saying "System error. Memory parity error
detected. System halted."
Is this a common problem and is there an easy solution?
The PC is a Viglen VIG-III 386DX-33, 4M RAM, 80M disk with Stacker 3.1. I'm
using the MS-DOS-6 version of MSCDEX. Windows 3.1. All the defaults were used
on installing the CD-ROM. The "D=32" has been added to EMM386.EXE in
CONFIG.SYS. I've removed my scanner card, but it doesn't help. I've tried
moving the address from 0300h to 0340h and it seemed to be more reliable, but
then the system crashed again.
Help!
Stewart.
