You can hook up a drive/host-adapter combination that's designed for
the A500 to an A1000. The only "problem" is that it'll end up facing
backwards. The side slot on the A500 and the side slot on the A1000 are
on opposite sides of the computer…(and at a slightly different
height)..so add-ons must be reversed end-for-end to work one to the
other.
Check with a local dealer (if you have one near you)…they may have some
used A1000 specific add-ons available…or might be able to assist you
getting an A500 add-on to work with your A1000.
