Yes Sony has a different machine for every technique. Other than source deck I
can't see why anyone would want to do frame accurate editing with Hi8 anyway.
Hi8 was originally intended for acquisition and as such specs were designed
around that purpose.. Everyone demanded Sony convert the 8mm format for editing
and now look at all the crippled editing systems we have. You buy a Hi8
editing deck and then you find out you can't do video follows audio. Audio
follows video works but who edits that way?
