MBX 1200 results

If you don't mind continuing this discussion further…
I'd like to summarize to see if I understand:
1. The A1200 will run faster than a 68020 w/MMU because the MMU slows
down the 020 and the 68EC020 doesn't have one. What is the MMU and
why is it not a part of the EC020? Has it been made obsolete?
2. You have a "special" machine called the MBX 1200 that has the 68881.
The out-of-the-box A1200 does not, so _some_ processes on the stock
A1200 will be slower than your machine. Does this affect only math
functions? Does software have to be written to take advantage of
the 68881? For example, if I put old DPIV (no AGA) on my 1200, will
it's fill, perspective, antialias and other math-intensive (presumably)
functions run slower without the 68881 than with? Re: the "MBX", are
you a tester or something… how did you get this machine?
3. Does the 32-bit data path vs. 16-bit for the 68000 (A2000) automatically
translate to a doubling of speed?
4. Did your tests run 68020-optimized code? If it were 68000-only, what
effect do you think that would have on the results? I guess I'm trying
to get a general idea of how a stock A1200 running mostly non-AGA
software will perform compared to the A2000 I'm using now. Will
DPIV animations run smoother? Will AmigaVision run anims and sounds
together with more smoothness (probably the 2mb chip ram has some
bearing here).
