The ribbon cable sounds like that for a SCSI drive. I don't think
they work with a 1200. I think the 1200 uses IDE, not SCSI, but I'm not
sure. If the 1200 has a hard drive interface, then you don't need anything
other than the drive if the controller supports tape. I know nothing about
the 1200, so you need to get other advice.
