I don't think that's right. Machines like CDTV are sort of razors. It is imperative that one makes the real money from razor blades (i.e., CDs). Commodore did set it up this way (licensing), so they would need to sell millions of CDs, but not necessarily millions of machines. Believe me, Nintendo doesn't make much (if anything) on a game system, but they RAKE IT IN on cartridges. They could realistically GIVE AWAY the console.
