Publicly, I would like to state that working for Commodore was wonderful. I
was there from 1979 to the end of 1991 with a one year break in 1987. As you
and others may know, I'm English, and without Commodore, I'd probably still be
in the UK. Instead, I worked for Commodore in the UK, emigrated to Canada to
work for Commodore there, and then moved the U.S. with Commodore in 1983. It
was a fantastic experience that I don't regret at all.
Regarding my thoughts about what has happened to Commodore through the years,
well I don't want to put all of that out publicly, but clearly they have made
mistakes. The fundamental problem is not having a top management team that
understands the business and how it has changed. All other problems stem from
that. Don't count them out though. In 1984, things were possibly even more
grim. Then they bought a small startup company in California called Amiga…
Regards,
Paul.
