#Modem from Shell
I would like to know how I can get my modem to Dial a number from a shell
command.
I.E. Echo ATDT555-1212,,,,,,# >ser:
I get the lights to blink but the modem will not go off hook, I set it
to ignore the DTR line. All I need is for it to be able to dial my beeper
and leave a number, it shouldn't require any intelligence from my modem.
Any ideas or suggestions.
