I've used Fantavision a little, but I have no idea about the current
support status of it.
There used to be a program that could be used to capture single frames of
any double buffered output and save it as an ANIM, I used it a long time
ago to grab an Aegis Animator sequence and a Sculpt-3D Movie and convert it
into an ANIM. I think it was a utility produced by Martin Hash on one of
his animation utility program disks, but I don't remember which one. It
could be rather tedious, but with enough fiddling it did work, and I
haven't seen any other utility like it. It would watch the front screen
address and detect when a double-buffering switch occurred as a trigger for
when to grab the screen as an ANIM frame. You'd tell it how many frames to
grab and it would keep going until the number you give it was satisfied.
Yeah, here we go, it was called ConvertANIM, and it was by HASH, but I've
got it on a disk all by itself marked BETA, so I don't know how it was
finally released.
