Doug: Snail mail for Mining Business Digest is: 11 Robin Crest Lane Littleton, CO 80123 T# (303)798-9365 F# (303)798-6654 How do I post a sample? The last issue ran to +150,000 bytes? Is that too much to post? Spent one day of the Mem Day weekend up on the Arkansas at the fee panning/sluicing areas at the Lake Creek/Arkansas confluence and thereabouts. The owner has the best placer diggins in Colroado at $1/day for panning and $5/day per sluice — he sure got more gold than I did. We did a bit better on the South Platte at Fairplay but still don't plan to quite my day job. It's always a thrill to see color in the pan though. Hoped to get back to the place I found what I think are axinites, but didn't get back there over the Mem Day weekend. They occur as micros in small vugs in a volcanic (?) associated with a granodiorite intrusive south of Trout Creek Pass between Fairplay and Salida (Colo). Most are small, a few mm across, and only terminations and part of the prism faces are poking out of the small vugs. Some are honey-colored but many are coated with a manganese stain and not very attractive. Chlorite sheaves and some unknown are associated. Saw the message regarding MINLOG. I have a copy that I traded an ad in MBD for. I have installed it but haven't had a chance to start entering info yet (after all its only been about 4 months since I installed it). I talked to Jim over the phone last week and told him about the Geology Forum. Frank L.
