Cutting in here… John, you might be able to offer some insight on this. Seems to me (a complete layperson) that Motion JPEG might have advantages over MPEG. For one thing, it could be easier to create in software (heck, most of the tools one would need probably exist for the Amiga already). For another, the individual frames would remain easily available for later manipulation. Maybe the JPEG non-linear editing boards would be useful in this regard.
