A local university? Sorry, but we haven't grown quite that big yet (N. Idaho). There is a Community College in town with an active computer section. Unfortunately, if I was able to use their access that would mean going down there every couple days (at their convenience) to read the newsgroups, hardly convenient. Although, it might be a good way to get access to geology database for research on occasion.
