— $2,000 HyperSpace 3-D Digitizer/Modeler now available — HyperSpace(tm) is well-known 3-D digitizing and modeling software from Mira Imaging, Inc. that works with 3-D digitizers to quickly and easily create wireframe models of complex real-world objects. The Immersion Corp. Personal Digitizer(tm) is now available with HyperSpace software. The Personal Digitizer has an accuracy of 0.035" and a range of 17". HyperSpace uses XYZ coordinate information from the Personal Digitizer's stylus to create a 3-D wireframe model which appears on the computer monitor as the physical model is being digitized. The stylus also functions as an infinitely positionable camera and light source for "on the fly" viewing and shading of the 3-D wireframe model. HyperSpace software modeling tools include reflection, extrusion, surfaces of rotation, surface patches, auto-smoothing and auto-welding of vertices, and automatic lofting of surfaces between line segments. HyperSpace models can be extensively edited by relocating, adding, or deleting polygons and line segments, or by fitting vertices to cubic splines, lines, and planes. A mapping function in HyperSpace lets you relocate the physical model relative to the digitizer and continue digitizing. This means you can digitize objects larger than the 17" reach of the Personal Digitizer hardware, as well as digitize the backs, sides, and bottoms of objects which may be inaccessible from the object's original position on the digitizer. HyperSpace comes with a DXF converter for exporting HyperSpace models for use with 3D Studio.
