which inkjet?
Although I purchased the HPDeskjet, I have a Canon 486 Notejet laptop at work
with a built-in Canon ink-jet printer. It's been my observation that the
quality of ink for the Canon printers is superior to that in the HP cartridges.
Also, I find that the HP cartridge/head leaks (every so slowly) and dries. I
find that after not using the HP injet printer for a few weeks I have to remove
the cartridge and clean it (ever so carefully) before I can use it again, and I
have to run a few test copies before the ink starts flowing evenly too. I have
not had this problem with the Canon ink jet (bubble jet or whatever) printers.
Anyhow, there is definatly a difference in clarity of the ink used by both
vendors, with Canon the winner. FYI- my testing used plain laser printer
quality papers. But because I wasn't aware of how quickly these ink cartridges
can dry out when I purchased my printer I now feel it was a mistake to get an
ink jet printer. For only a little more money I should have purchased the low
end laser printer. It's faster, cheaper to operate, gives a much better
quality of print (which by the way won't bleed if it gets wet), can print on
almost any type of paper (glossy, smooth, textured, etc.), and the TONER
CARTRIDGES DON'T DRY OUT.
