David I just checked out a long distance number to AOL, turned out to be a Sprintnet # and connected at 9600, getting around AOL was not really much faster because of all the menus to go through, but downloading a couple files definitely was faster. The Internet connection for the geology Newsgroup was faster. So, it may pay to use it if I know I am going to get a large file. Being a Sprintet number at long distance I'm not sure where that extra expense will hit me (in my AOL charge I guess, so I won't see exactly what it was). Lanny
