GPS-Trimble Scout

Work cut me loose a couple of hours early today, (catch is, I have to come
in Sunday) and in a momentary fit of insanity I tracked down REI and bought
a Trimble Scout of my own. I had been leaning towords the Garmin GP45 but
based on comments here and in the Outdoor forum I decided to spend the big
bucks. There have been two cases of the Garmin's locking up and losing their
data. I guess it would be a good idea to carry a small note pad and keep a
manual record of all your waypoints. I havn't been able to lock in more than
2 satellites in the house, but I get 4 out in the yard. It's a bit startling
the first time one compares the indicated location with a known location on
a 7.5" quad and find that they match within a quarter of a inch! 🙂
