Hi, I have recently purchased the 3d Studio Release 3 IPAS 3 Toolkit in order to try my hand at writing IPAS3. My background is 'C' for Windows and OS/2 so I'm not afraid of C's libraries, DLLs, or Huge APIs. What is new for me is writing 32 bit dos with the Phar Lap stuff. I currently use MSVC, BC40, MSVC for WIN NT, and IBM's C SET/2. I realize that I need to buy a YACC (yet another 'C' compiler) and was looking at the WATCOM one. Being unfamiliar with these non-mainstream compilers, I have to ask a few stupid questions. 1) The IPAS 3 Toolkit Docs say (pg 5) that WATCOM C/386 9.5 is supported and t and anything newer hasn't been tested. – Is that still true ? My problem is that I can't find anything called WATCOM C/386. The closest thing I uncovered was a WATCOM C32 for DOS Version 9.5. (Is this the same thing ?) Did WATCOM change the name or is this a TYPO. Since you only claim to have tested one version of the compiler, I would really like to get exactly what you have. – The current WATCOM compiler is C/C++ Version 10. Has anyone tried this one out yet ? If not, I will try to get the out of date one. – With WATCOM, is the so called royalty-free DOS extender with VMM all I need to play IPAS ? (This is what I believe I am reading on page 5) Does this also hold for WATCOM V 10.0 with the Rational System's DOS/4GW 32-bit DOS extender ? Alas I left DOS development too early [AAny feedback from you IPAS developers would be greatly appreciated…. Thanks, Charles Meier (76665,204)
