In order to render to the A66 you'd need to use some sort of ethernet-UNIX network (FTP or NFS) deal. This shouldn't be a big problem. I believe ASDG is working on a driver to do just that… you may want to give them a call. Actually, the Abekas driver from ASDG works really well, and is, in many instances, more efficient and faster than ethernetting to the A66. What it does is take your .tgas and YUV convert/back them onto Exabyte tape. You take that tape and stream it back onto the Abekas via the SCSI port (and an Exabyte tape drive <g>). The upload to the A66 takes 2 seconds per frame, which is faster than ethernet, according to the place where I do all my Abekas-ing. You could have several animations on tape, ready to go the A66 (which only hold up to 1612 frames), and upload them as you need them. If you have several Exabyte drives… well you see my point. Also, this way you don't tie up your Abekas waiting for one machine to render to it, and your files end up there in the right order. Don't forget, if you network render to a drive like that, the frames won't always be in the right order for playback. If you need further assistance, ask me and I'll e-mail you my phone #.
