Lanny — From the bits and pieces I have seen, those expensive units don't decode the dithering in real time. I think the DOD publishes more exact satellite positions and the algorithms to decode the dithering about 2 weeks after the fact. I think there are more than 24 satellites. I have kept a record of which sats the Scout has locked onto (yeah, I know – I need to get a life). I have seen #1 to #31 except 3, 8, 10, 11, 13 & 30. That's 25 – I wonder if there are a couple hanging around the equator that can't be seen up here. I was talking to a guy who sells the Scout in So. CA and he said a lot of folks in the movie business are buying them because of its sun angle/rise/set ability. — Bill
