Kevin,
Well yes Kevin, we sold arms to Saddam. When you're trying to keep a guy on
your side you give him incentives. Unfortunately Saddam knows how to play
that game and how to play both sides of the game for his own benefit. The
new reality is that if the Russians don't play, we don't have to either. It
seems the mandate of the people dictates a more domestic agenda while
downsizing our foreign policy concerns. One thing that bothers me about the
new administration is the desire to tax foreign corporations just at the
time we are making inroads in selling Japan our computers. We no doubt
would get taxed in return, which would kill the inroads made. If we are
lucky, Clinton will abandon this campaign promise too as he has done on
everything else promised. Politics as usual in America, nothing really
changes. All these superich entertainers who voted for Clinton and who
made a killing under Reagan now feel sorry for the homeless–but their
taxes won't go up. The guy who has to commute to work will probably pay 15
to 50 cents a gallon of gas in taxes to bail out the country. It just makes
me sick that they can spend 30 million dollars for parties to celebrate the
new president, while in Washington, the homeless were still out in the
cold. What really ticked me off is all the furs that were being worn by all
the democratic pols' wives. Talk about a bunch of hypocrites. I'm really
sick of the bs in both parties and I didn't like the billionaire guy
either. I think we'll need a constitutional convention called by the states
to dismantle the federal government as it's now structured. The objective
would be to cap federal spending, cap federal salaries and terms, forbid
lobbying, pay off the national debt, and return most revenue back to the
states as revenue sharing to rebuild the infrastructure. All these mayors
that supported Clinton hoping to get public dollars were kidding
themselves. Where the heck is the federal government
