Ahhh, the waiting game. It is always hard to make decisions on technology that
require a significant investment. I have to applaud both NewTek and Deskstation
for getting a solution to the market that fills an important need.
The bottom line with the Raptor/ScreamerNet combo is that it significantly
reduces rendering times, is now quite stable, and can be purchased today. The
other system announced from US Cybernetics will likely not make it to market
with any support from NewTek, or anyone else for that matter.
A Raptor can be paid for with a few big projects….
