"colored album">> I don't know about lucrative. If I were to make an album, I would probably place the images 6 up on a letter size page with landscape orientation. If you were to keep the file size constant, you would get a higher resolution output. Moving the large files would be done on Bernoulli disk but the color laser print (either Kodak 1550 or Xerox 5775 Fierry) cost about $6. for the first page and $1. for each copy (because the postscript header allows the file to be send once and printed multiple times). If you take 425 images (Texture Universe) 6 up, you need 71 prints total. The first set costing $426. and each additional set $71. If I were to make 20 sets I would have to charge $88.75 just to pay for printing. I don't know how bad other people want an album, but I would probably be willing to spend $50-65 not $89. The best option & quality would be if we were to go to an offset press which would provide about 1800 dots per inch instead of just 400dpi from a color laser. This would cost more if we only made a couple of sets because of higher setup costs, but if we had lots of sets made, it would work out great (lower cost per set & higher quality). I guess that it depends on how many users are willing to pay about $60 for the album. The cost for a 3ds.mli album would be about half if you were to place the testures 6 up. There is a direct relationship between the size of the image and price. The happy medium lays where you get a reasonable size (larger than your thumbnail) but few enough pages to keep the cost down. Somewhere between 2up to 9up I would guess would probably work. If there is sufficient interest, I would donate my time to do the layout (# of images up & description's/captions) as well as take them to a press.
