Hi Ed,
I just took at look at 1C02.FLC… Whoa! You've really got water
motion DOWN. Beautiful stuff.
If you're still interested in jamming it for our Siggraph reel
(deadline in a week), here are the things it would need:
1) The water particles are too blocky. It would be idea to do this
with metaball spheres. If you think this would be possible, I can
contact the Schreiber folks and get them involved in supporting you
with a copy of metareyes. The meta water particles ought to have a
nice watery reflection map on them.
2) The red trough is not quite interesting enough. It needs to look
like a concrete trough, with a realistic (and subtle) material… so
the water stands out. it also needs some sort of support columns to
make it look like it's an actual structure.
3) The above structure needs to at least be in a cubical or
spherical environment with a very subtle surface on it, also to make
the water stand out.
4) The lighting has to emphasize the water, and leave the rest of the
scene in lower contrast so nothing catches the eye more than the
water. Soft shadows from the trough structure ought to be cast on
its environment.
With the above changes, and rendered to at least 640×480 on fields,
with a pixel size of at least 1.4 and good texture filtering values,
this would be a killer addition to the Siggraph reel. (I'd be
honored.)

PS: The dripping font treatment is great! Unfortunately, there's no
room in the demo reel for font work… but this is a fantastic trick.
