I'm not clear on if you upgraded from 3 to 4c1 or from 4 to 4c1 or if
you actually own a copy of Liquid speed or just wanted to run the
demo version of it so I'll assume that you own Liquid speed the
dongle is in place and your upgrading from 4 to 4c1. If you need to
do the Liquid speed upgrade too that requires your original
installation disk for the Liquid speed product as well as the Liquid
speed upgrade disk. You install the upgrade to liquid speed and
during that installation it asks you for the original installation
disk to verify and upgrade the serial numbered disk. If your
original installation was from a safety backup disk of the Liquid
Speed Product that is the disk you will insert when the upgrade asks
for it.
One of the things that the 4c1 upgrade does is creates copies of your critical
settings files:
This may Help:
You should have a copy of your original 3DS.Set file tucked away for save
keeping. If you don't….Start doing so.
You don't want to do anything to the 3DS.Exe file because that is part of the
upgrade. The only exception I can think of is if you happen to own a Matrox
Illuminator Pro board or Matrox Max setup and then you will just have to run
the Cfig.bat file which does nothing more that add the "Callbufs 1" statement
to the PharLap program.
Anyway since the install makes backups of the following files all you need to
do is
Copy:
old3dnet.set to 3dsnet.set
Copy:
old3ds.res to 3ds.res
Copy:
Vib3ds.old to vib3ds.vlm
Copy:
Vibrant.old to Vibrant.res
This is all in your 3DS4 Directory.
Go in to your 3ds4\matlibs directory and copy:
your old3ds.mli to the 3ds.mli if you have special materials you've created and
put in to the original 3ds.mli.
