Thank you for the prompt response. It is convenient to shell to ACAD from 3DS because I do most mesh modeling with DXF out from there. I seem to be working most from arcitectural drawings in DWG files to begin with. OS2 of course solves this problem, but I am having some trouble with the RAM memory during render of larger files which requires I switch back down to DOS. I do have the following line in the config.sys SHELL-C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /P /E:32768 The /E:32768 is supposed to represent the largest size shell possible in DOS. hmmm……Peter Landeck
