Well… FrankF at Sony has an IXP that saves the image data at 12bpp, and I know that Martin Doudoroff had started to work on one (at some point last year). It's incredibly brain-damaged simple code to write… you just need a spec for a specific file format. We wouldn't made it a native capability, but there's actually no standard in that area yet. Note that DarrelA did a bunch of Alias work for JM, but he's back using 3DS exclusively — he just finished a killer shot for the Siggraph tape. – G
