#Rendering Errors
I have installed a new machine (486DX4) with 16 meg of RAM for
rendering purposes. On the very first rendering job I was given the
following error message:
Mfree error — validity check failure!
ptr1=85F970, ptr2=85F96C, *ptr1=0, *ptr2=55010000
When I pressed escape (Esc) I got the following message:
HEAPMGMT-heap error #: (ASCII jiberish seen here)
Cheap stack dump linked in=>no dump.
Aborting….
At this point I was at the DOS prompt (no cursor mind you).
I tried running the machine several times in slave mode and it would
come up with a similar message each time. The machine would render
from 30 to 200 frames before coming up with this error. I am trying
to find out if there is a problem with the machine and if so, what
that problem might be. I don't want to take it back to the vendor I
purchased it from until I can identify the problem. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
