We used to have GDS, and we got rid of it when it MCDAC put it up for sale. Our transportation Engineers moved to Microstation and the Archtitectural side moved into AutoCAD. Small world, huh? We have tried similar things in AutoCAD…. Using certain techniques in advance, hoping that we will have the need/money to produce a fullblown 3D model. Sometimes it works. How large are your projects? We are not able to justify a formal `CADD lead' Instead, we share the responsibility. Although, now that I think about it, it always seems as though one of us is performing that role on our own time, anyway. Would you like to upload some of your images? -Mike.
