You *should* feel welcome, Mike, you've certainly been around long enough! ASOFT (Autodesk SOFTware) is/was the original name for this forum (which is still being used by some old die-hards like myself). The original concept was to augment the larger, more formal Adesk party with a bit more intimate and informal version (held on another night) announced here on the forum. This way, if you were a 3DS user on the forum, you'd automatically be aware of the party and hopefully make arrangements to attend. Folks who have spoken together and helped each other here throughout the year get a chance to meet each other face-to-face in a friendly, informal atmosphere, and have fun anticipating what news Siggraph will bring of our common obsession, 3DS! This is in no way meant to exclude the remainder of the 3DS community. Certainly, _anyone_ interested in 3DS (or just anyone who thinks it might be interesting to watch a bunch of 3D geeks go on about what they love) who hears about the party is welcome to come by (it _is_ being held in public place, after all!).
