Hi Kerry, I have no idea what type of simulator you're talking about, but if the thing renders geometry, it certainly could be rendering NURBS surfaces exclusively, rather than polygons. NURBS is not a file format nor a "tool", but a specific type of B-Spline curve or surface. Specifically, a Non-Uniform Rational type. Actually, there are quite a few systems I'm aware of which utilize a NURBS surface rendering algorithm. Probably the most established and familiar renderer capable of rendering NURBS surfaces is in fact, Renderman. As I said before, converting from Phong-shaded polymeshes to NURBS is pretty much unheard of. Perhaps you might find this in the software for some 3D Digitizing systems, I don't recall. Regards, BILL
