J. eric. did you hear about the stuff (oh about month & 1/2 or so ago) a program/system called "Caligari" (like Dr.) There was apparently a demo video tape shown at an amuse meeting I believe. From the description I read on the amuse bbs it was just awesome. A 3D flying point-of-view down from above to some kind chess board like thing with different objects on the square and then a flight through it at the level of the objects swooping around a-la starwars deathstar trench sequence and with the point of view rotating 180 degrees while moving so that you then looked backwards at where you were coming from. All in 3d with multiple light sources/shanding etc, (don't recall if it was raytracing or not, it might have been) This was done on some kind of vcr (some fancy beta I believe) that had the single frame record and this program controlled it. They set it up and left it over night ( I believe they said 20 hours) and voila, instant 3d video with smooth animation. Any Amuse people here see that? Just thought I'd mention this. I think they said the program was 60% done too. Bye
