Phil – I see a lot of folks using Wirth's single pass compiler. Is there any
chance you all might go the same route? It would require revamping the entire
system but the pluses just might outweigh the minuses. Also, just for the
record, I purchased an MS-DOS Modula-2 compiler from Modula Corp. Those folks
provide absolutely no support. They do have a great debugger, though, and
have implemeted most of their products for the 68K. Any chance you could all
work out a deal with them (I guess they're still pretty active in Europe) to
include their debugger with your product line? It's not as good as Micosoft's
CodeView (few, if any, are) but it still is condsiderably
better than TDI's (no offense). Also I'd like to add that your optimizing
linker is excellent. Slow, maybe, but I like having small executables. Most
things I hack on are small utilities. Having a single-purpose routine taking
up 20K on a disk would be quite wasteful.
