#TID compiler
Chip,
I wouldn't exactly call it a monomania, and I wouldn't call it unfair. I have
purchased the 'mid level', developers version, have upgraded it at whjat I felt
was too high a price for bug fixes (not to mention the newer bug insertions),
and ended up with a compiler that would not run at all on my 68010. It sort of
runs on my 68000, but without source for the library stuff, coupled with trying
to learn the language and not knowing for sure if I was doing something wrong
or if I was being bitten by yet another compiler problem, I feel that I have
been shabbily treated.
From reports I have heard so far about the 3.n version, it still isn't right,
though as you say, you and Erv have uploaded a lot of fixes. I still say that I
should be able to reasonably expect a compiler package to run properly,
especially in the second version, for which TDI had plenty of feedback from
those of us who supported them by showing them exactly where they had problems.
Looking at all that, can you still say I have a monomania or that I am being
unfair? Please take into account that I have had no problem whatsoever with the
benchmark compiler.
