Well, I'd like to put in my 3 cents worth. Before TDI came out with the Amiga M2 compiler, I was forced to use C, which was alright, but I was not happy with it. When TDI M2 came out for amy, I was very excited and used it for everything. It *WAS* a usable product, but it *DID* have *LOTS* and *LOTS* of bugs. Luckily I had the commercial package and was able to correct some of the problems. Once Benchmark M2 came out, I switched immediately: It's a faster compiler with a *MUCH* better integration to the editor, and ***NO*** known bugs in the release version!!! TDI keeps sending me updates, but it only sends disks with no mention of what changed since the previous version. This is inexcusable and unprofessional behavior. When Benchmark was updated from Beta to Final release, I received a detail list of changes to the compiler, editor, and even the support modules. Now that's what I call support! If it weren't for Benchmark I would recommend TDI on the strengths of Modula-2 alone, but since we, fortunately, have Benchmark I recommend that whole heartedly as an EXCELLENT product. Once TDI adopts a more professional attitude, I'll be more than happy to give it a 2nd crack (I did like the Post Mortem debugger; it's still more than what you get for either Benchmark or M2Amiga, even though Benchmark works with MetaScope). Phew… this msg got longer than I expected… sorry… – Steve –
