Executive search firm, Ward Howell International, is recruiting a product
manager – laser interactive software – for its client Pioneer Electronics
Corp. The position will be in Long Beach, California and reports to the
senior vice president, home electronics marketing.
The product manager is responsible for leading the development and
introduction of Pioneer Electronic's laser disc interactive home
entertainment system. The product, which is in an advanced stage of
development in Japan, will be far superior in image quality and
entertainment value than any other on the market today. Based on
state-of-the-art PAC technology, the laser disc interactive (LDI) system
will be designed to accommodate a number of common platforms thereby
enabling broad application. Full motion/animation quality video games will
be offered along with educational, cultural, and "how to" software. The
product manager will assist in leading a successful US development and
launch of Pioneer Electronic's LDI product by August, 1993.
The product manager will: work closely with and visit frequently Pioneer's
product development engineers in Japan to learn and adapt the LDI hardware
and operating software for United States' application; contribute to
development of the LDI authoring system (U.S. version ); prepare and
present business proposals to software licensees, and others, with whom
Pioneer may contract.
Candidate qualifications require a creative, ambitious professional with
5-7 years experience in entertainment software development (using computer
generated and full motion images) and product management; extensive
experience with CD-ROM/CD-I technology authoring
