Don
The first Aggie (I have two boxes) came out with the greatest of ease.
The trace cut caused a moment of fright when my 60lb German Shephard decided to
say hi to me! Thank heavoens nothing else got cut! My second box at work (#1
is rev 4.2, #2 is rev 4.3) must have had its Agnus cemeted in there. We ended
up persuading it with a flathead screwdriver at each end before the tool could
get under for a good pull. That Agnus won't be seeing a motherboard any more.
The two boxes are both doing fine without any new strange looking gurus.
While I was in there, I had also just bought a pair of GVP controllers and a
Syquest 40MB removable. That caused more fun and games as I found out that GVP
had given me their 68030 board installation software instead of their hard disk
stuff! I ended up getting into their bboard to grab their latest scsi device
and script arcs. I backed up both my Quantum 80mb drives and reformatted.
By the way… does anyone out there want me to do a write up on how I converted
(well actually still converting) over from a 2090 and 2090a to GVP controllers?
I'd also like a pointer to a scsi cable with the 25pin db on one end and the
50pin internal (telco) on the other end. I want to stick that Syquest into an
expansion box so I can schlep it back and forth between home and work.
