Jack, if I were you, I would change your console device from an IBM standard to the ansi standard. I know there are minor differences, but there are characters from BBS's that JRComm does not interpret properly, such as underlining and clearing the screen. For example, when you log onto a BBS with a colorful display which has a clear the screen, and several 'underline on' and 'underline off' characters, your JRComm does not do the job. And it is enough to irritate the user. I've tried several terminal programs with the combination IBM graphics and ANSI features and have not come across a better one in handling these two combinations than my very own Simpleterm. It's in LIB 4 called SMTERM.ARC or in the WHAP 1.7 package renamed whapterm. Before running Simpleterm or whapterm, you would, 1> FF IBMtype.font then run Simpleterm. Log onto any heavy duty IBM graphics-ansi color BBS, and you will see what I mean. Simpleterm will handle 'all' characters in the right way! I am using the Amiga's console device, which uses the ANSI x3.64 standard (I believe).
