I did not get that active string gadget resolved. There is another thing that this active string gadget does when I select a menubar selection with the leftamigakey-key equivalent!! I have an 'About…' selection in the menubar, with the LeftAmigaKey-F being the keyboard equivalent. When the A-F is selected with the string gadget being active, the 'about' requester pops up with text, and one 'continue' gadget. I can see that the string gadget is still active. "I even have the ACTIVATE flag set in the newwindow structure of the requester!". When I press the continue gadget, the requester should disappear, but what happens is the string gadget becomes inactive. I press the continue gadget again, and the requester goes away. So what I basically did, was press the 'continue' gadget twice. One to deactivate the string gadget, and one to close the requester. As I mentioned in another message, 'I wish there was a DeActivateGadget()'! I tried several ways of deactivating this string gadget after selecting the keyboard equivalent menubar selection, but nogo!!
