#DTP – Beginner's Qs
(Is anyone using ProPage? Is anyone using an JP Deskjet (Deskjet+) or a
Paintjet? Is anyone using PixelScript (aka PrintScript)?)
Because of some projects my wife is involved in, we recently bought
Professional Page. I'm very confused about our output options.
Our 9 pin dot matrix printer will obviously not give the high quality printout
we require for final copy. What do I need to know about fonts in anticipation
of outputting to someone else's laser printer or Linotron?
If I upgrade to an inkjet printer, can I really get the same quality of
printout as if I use a laser printer? Do I need PixelScript in order to do so?
Would I be better off with a Paintjet or a Deskjet? What about a Deskjet+ (and
how is that different anyway)? Again, what do I need to know about fonts to
use those printers, with or without PixelScript?
As you can see, my ignorance of this area has me in the classic beginner's
state of total confusion. Any comments or assistance would be _greatly_
appreciated.
