I just purchased a toshiba 3401b cd-rom drive along with an adaptec 1522 scsi card and the ez-scsi drivers. I've tried every combination possible to get the drive to work. The card seems to recognize the drive and all the drivers load without errors (aspi2dos, aspicd, mscdex). Yet when I try to read from the drive I get the error cdr101: drive not ready, abort, retry, fail? I have yet to be able to get anything from the drive. In fact, I can't eject or insert a disk caddy after the system has booted. I literally spent the afternoon on the phone long distance trying to get support from toshiba to no avail. They did finally fax me the manual which didn't come with the drive but the drive still does not work. If anyone has gotten this drive to work with an adaptec 1522 please leave me mail with your configuration. I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Tony Augruso
