Frank Personally, I think the best thing for the Amiga would be to trash AmigaBASIC. It works well, considering it's a gimmee, but it isn't what I'd consider a polished product. Personal opinion: Commodore, being tight for $ should avoid duplicating third party software development and liscense HiSoft or some such similar. Ideally, the very best BASIC should _NOT_ be shipped free with the coumputer. Look at what happened to the Macintosh word processing software when MacWord (MacWrite?) was shipping free with the computer. Shipping a 100% complete BASIC compiler with the Amiga would be foolish: 80% complete is enough for Johnny to do his BASIC homework on without destroying the market for third party interpreters and compilers. The nice part for HiSoft (or whoever) is that they would still be able to sell their original product as "BASIC+" or "extended AmigaBASIC" ————————————————————TL———-
