John, I believe you're looking for information on the AppleSingle/AppleDouble file format. I'm not familiar with these, but there are a couple of messages discussing this(these?) format(s) here in MacDEV right now. I'm sure they'll contain pointers to the official documentation. I don't think Apple has ever documented the format of the resource map that is crucial to resource forks (the map holds pointers to individual resources). Why do you need to create resource forks on another platform? Perhaps the group here can suggest some alternatives. Good luck! Read action !re Enter reply.
