What controller are you using? The only controller/software combination
that I personally know of that handles bad block mapping is the GVP
FaastPrep. I am sure that there are other (Microbiotics, etc) but I have
no experience with them.
CBM is sorely lacking in that area. If you know the bad block numbers then
Prep (or HDTool box on 2.0) will let you tell the system to map out the bad
blocks.
If I understand your request, you want to find a utility that will do the
test, give you a list of bad blocks and allow you to then map them out be
allocating the blocks to a dummy file…yes?
I believe that such software exists but I don't know what it is or where to
find it.
