I believe that virtual memory schemes, whether MMU based or software based,
will slow down any machine and any OS. Virtual mmemory was necessary once,
but I do wish they'd get rid of it at this point. We use SUN 3's at work,
and the VM just kills the poor little things. Seems they spend all of their
time swapping stuff in and out.
I was thinking of a speed increase based on moving the KS ROM image only.
That Enforcer program you mentioned sounds very useful. I generally rely on
segmentation violations to tell me I've blown the end of an array or
wandered into someplace I shouldn't be. Not very elegent, but VERY
effective!
